Instead of shuffling this long overdue “project” around during the basement re-org I decided to take some quick spray painting action.

Here we have a rusty but solid outdoor candle holder we acquired for our deck, which just needed some scraping:

…and a spritz or two of pretty rustoleum which we had leftover from our hall-light project:

A bit of dry-time and we’ve gained .5 SF in the basement and total glamour for $0 on our deck. Not bad for a Monday.
