I know you’re “supposed” to wait until after you paint to take up the old carpet (aka using it as a drop cloth) but honestly I don’t care… As soon as I can get the metro shelves unassembled, the purple carpet is fair game.

Nothing too crazy under there, thank goodness. It does need refinished although just seeing wood instead of purple is exciting to me at this point!
I like that you’re doing the guest room before you put the bathroom door on. You’re going to have put on a bathroom door before you have people over. Well, your friends seem pretty open, so maybe it’s okay. Maybe not open enough to have an “open door policy”
