I’m just home from work, locking up my bike, and take a casual look into the garden…

By snake standards, he’s probably a baby at only 10″ or so but by snakes-within-a-few-feet-of-me-in-our-garden, he’s HUGE!

Anyone know what kind it is? I’ve heard there’s snakes in THE garden but never saw one in OUR garden… Hanging out in the shade! Paver for comparison:

This sighting brings our garden wildlife count pretty high: regular birds, robins, doves, squirrels, cats, a bunny, a baby opossum, worms, butterflies, bugs, caterpillars, and now… A SNAKE!
