A Semi-secret third floor project revealed: we had marble installed on our deep mansard roof window sills! It started as a joke for using up the rest of the slab we used in the bathroom, but after getting an amazing quote from our stone installer we couldn’t resist.

We painted the 5 sills 18 months ago and just look at the poor things… Plants and old painted wood just don’t get along. Before:

The stone guys were troopers- lugging slabs of Calacutta Michaelangelo between the third floor and the saw outside… more trips than I could count.

So reflective!
A bit of trim and a lot of sealer, and our plants will have a glamourous new home that will last longer than the plants will, I’m sure. Moral? Just ask – you may like the answer!
