What better way to end the weekend than with an insanely bright orange kitchen floor?
We cut all the pieces for our uncoupling membrane/ underlayment/ stuff that goes under our tile:
It’s Ditra, a product made by Schluter and sold in rolls. So far we’ve found it easy to cut and transport, less mess than cement board, and thinner too (so, less of a transition to our other rooms). If there has to be a con, it’s that it’s more expensive:
Now that we have all the pieces cut, the next step is attach it to the floor with a latex-modified thin set – the final step before we tile!
