After the second coat today. I’ll spare you the painful details (painting a ceiling with oil paint= possibly worse than grouting) but I ended up using a brush on the entire ceiling. Glimma:

It’s a big hit here despite some original skepticism and second guessing during the process. Here’s where the three fixtures and smoke detector will go:
