Our bathroom threshold is a week away from a brand new marble threshold, and needs some attention. Before we ransacked the bathroom it had a large 2.5″ or so high wood threshold which covered more of the hardwood hall floor. So we taped off and started freshening up by pulling/ sinking nails:
