BLOCKTOBERFEST is tomorrow, on Christian Street between 20th and 21st (which is just a few blocks away from our house)… here is the scoop from the official website:

This day-long outdoor festival will feature representatives of select craft breweries from around the country showcasing their biggest and best fall beers, as well as delicious food from neighborhood vendors, and a great line-up of live music from local and nationally-touring acts.

Proceeds from Bloktoberfest will be directed toward vital architectural preservation work for the Shiloh Baptist Church at 2040 Christian St, a stunning building designed by Frank Furness in 1868 (only 3 years before our house was built).

So youre saying local food, beer & music… to benefit a fabulous building… with free tours & art exhibit… within walking distance… I think I may have to take a break from working on the house to checkcheck it out!
