Last year we had a blast at our neighborhood Bloktoberfest – every year it gets bigger and better and if you’re in Philly we would strongly encourage you to check it out this upcoming Saturday! It’s technically a fundraiser for our neighborhood, but you may not notice at first because the craft beers are amazing & there’s multiple stages for great music. Did we mention it’s 4 blocks long and there’s a ton of local food and even lots of (generally cleanish) port a potties as well? Yes, please!
ABOUT BLOKTOBERFEST (from their site)
“Bloktoberfest, an all-ages, free-to-attend celebration of beer, food, music, and Philly will be returning for its fourth year on Saturday, October 13th, 2012, from noon to 8pm, taking over four blocks of South Street between Broad Street and 18th Street. In partnership with the South of South Neighborhood Association, South Street West Business Association, and Bella Vista Beer Distributors, Bloktoberfest will once again showcase a wide selection of beer by craft breweries from around the country, food from neighborhood vendors and food trucks, and multiple stages of live music featuring nationally recognized and emerging local acts. The event is not for profit, with beer proceeds directed back into a variety of local charities and programs.”
I was super sad that we all had other obligations the weekend of Blocktoberfest this year–last year really was a blast! I say we call another sibling gathering soon, blocks of beer tastings optional 😉
I agree! How about a Halloween themed wedding? This weekend? Let’s do it! 😉
