We’re always multi-tasking here on the square, so back to prepping hardware. We want to reuse the escutcheons from the bedroom door, both because they work and are free, but their bright shiny brass doesn’t go with out antique door knobs. The round one is from our collection but is rusty:
Here’s the easy remedy. First I cleaned the pieces then did a coat of metal primer:
Then sprayed the first coat of “Antique Brass Metallic”, which we also used for our hall light fixture. It’s a bit glam here but it’s still wet:
