Tonight is National Night Out and acording to the SOSNA website, the participation requirements sound pretty low-key:  The SOSNA Safety Committee will be out with members of the South of South Town Watch distributing CFL Light Bulbs for your front stoop light.  To participate, all you have to do is hang out on your front stoop with your neighbors, and keep your stoop lights on!

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
• Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Our neighborhood and block feel mighty safe but it sounds like a great excuse to hang out with friends & neighbors on your stoop 🙂
