The height of this wood cap was a serious hot topic in the early stages of kitchen planning. It plays a critical role throughout the kitchen as the top height of the tile waincot/backsplash which relates to window sills which relates to counter heights and toe kick heights and flooring thickness. Throw in the fact none of these things existed when we built the wall back in… October? November? And you realize how critcal it is to plan ahead… Only to find out 12″x12″ of tile mosaic is more like 11-3/4″ x 11-3/4″ and hmm. It’s also important to be flexible.
